January 2016 Newsletter

Happy New Year Readers!

I hope you enjoyed the holidays and spending time with family and friends. As promised, I did my share of partying. December was jam-packed full of exciting trips and media relations.

Before I left on vacation, I appeared on FOX’s Good Day Orlando. I hadn’t been on the morning show in 2 ½ years, but the host and I got along swimmingly. We talked books and Christmas stock stuffer gifts. Did I mention the historic Orlando Times promoted my 20th book: Can’t Get Enough in the Dec 10-16th edition of the newspaper?

Then it was off to sunny Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a much needed vacation. There was sun, relaxation and of course adventure! I convinced my apprehensive three (3) sisters to accompany me zip-lining in the forest. Only 1 of them finished the trek. My hats off to my youngest sister Cassandra who soared to new heights with me – she’s like her big sister and is no chicken!

When I returned from vacation, it was nearly Christmas, but the Yahrah St. John promotional train didn’t stop. On Dec 26th, I was interviewed on Yardilinkradio.com. If you missed me on the radio, never fear. Visit my website and listen to my 30-minute interview: www.yahrahstjohn.com/media/audio. Alright enough about 2015, the year has ended and there’s no looking back. It’s time to reach for the stars.

What’s on tap for 2016? More books. More conferences. And a whole lotta romance.

In March 2016, you’ll be treated to the first book in the Hart Sisters trilogy. In UNCHAINED HEARTS, you’ll read about plus-sized London Hart’s struggle to find love with army veteran. Still smarting after her ex-husband ran off with all her money and steadily gaining weight, London Hart isn’t expecting to fall hard for ex-Special Forces member Chase Tanner. Chase is just as reluctant since he found his ex-wife cheating with his best friend after three tours in Iraq. Add he’s suffering from PTSD and London’s got her hands full. Can she free Chase of his demons and show him love is even better the second time around? I’d hoped for a Valentine’s Day release, but whew with all that promoting…time got away from me.

Plus I have a March 1st deadline looming for my new Knights of Los Angeles series with Harlequin Kimani Romance which will be debut January 2017. Lucius Knight’s story is steaming up my computer screen right now and has me so excited: Sexy, yet charming entrepreneur Lucius Knight is considered ruthless businessman in his hometown of Long Beach, California. He’s had to be considering he was denied his birthright. He grew up with his grandmother and never knew his father, but that all changes when his true identity is publicly revealed. While battling for legitimacy, Lucius sets his sights on Brooks & Johnson, a rising organic baby products company and the vivacious woman who owns it. Lucius never imagined that any woman could light his fire, but Naomi Brooks strikes a chord with him and he’s willing to do anything to have her and her company. Will he win the battle for her company? Or will he fall for the headstrong beauty instead?

In June 2016, my next Harlequin Kimani Romance: CAPPUCINNO KISSES will be released. If you loved my 2013’s Draysons Sprinkled with Love Series then you’re in for a sweet treat. Cappuccino Kisses will introduce a new trio of Seattle Draysons who love to bake, but love even harder. Fall in love with Mariah Drayson. The infertile divorcee who has put love on the shelf and instead put on her apron to get the Lillian’s of Seattle bakery off the ground, but when she meets dashing coffee importer Everett Myers and his adorable son EJ; Mariah begins re-evaluating her position on love and what makes a family.

Conferences! In April 2016, join me at Romance Slam Jam. For those of you die-hard fans who’ve followed me the last 12 years, you know that RSJ is where I received my 1st book deal, so come join me in Motown’s hometown as I mix and mingle with readers and authors.

Can’t come East? Well, West-Coast fans, I’ll be in San Diego in July for the Romance Writers of America’s conference biggest book-signing of the year. It’s a great time to schmooze with my publishing house, NY Times best-selling authors and of course vacation. If I’m going that far, I’ll might as well have an adventure.

Last, but certainly not least, I’ll head south to Building Relationship Around Books’, often known as BRAB’s Reading Warrior Retreat on October 6-8th 2016 in Memphis.

Can’t wait to see and hear from you.
